Jorge Antonio Abraham Magaña

A law graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (author of a brief analysis of Articles 15 and 73 of the Law on Negotiable Instruments and Credit Operations), he pursued professional development through diploma courses in Foreign Trade, Constitutional Law, Amparo proceedings, and Civil Law. He also participated in various legal seminars, conferences and workshops, including the “Effective Negotiating Course” led by Dr. Chester L. Karrass and a Basic Negotiation course based on the theories and tools of the Harvard Negotiation Project.

He authored several compilations of criminal laws for the State of Quintana Roo during his tenure as a founding partner of the law firm Asesoría Jurídica y Representaciones S.C.

As a founding partner of Abraham Magaña y Asociados—and serving as General Director of Abraham Magaña y Asociados, S.C. from 2001 to 2020—he had the vision of bringing together various legal professionals who continue his legacy today.

Jorge Alberto Abraham Valdez

Law graduate of Universidad La Salle (CENEVAL/EDGEL-2009 assessment); holds a master’s degree in law with a specialization in Civil Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán and has completed diploma courses in Labor Law, Civil Law, and “Amparo” proceedings. He has served as Director of Abraham Magaña y Asociados since September 2020.

Languages: English and French (Basic level). He holds a certification in Legal English from Cambridge.

Silvia Candelaria González Cruz

Law graduate from Universidad La Salle; holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Law, both from Universidad Anáhuac and Universidad Panamericana; has completed coursework for a Master’s degree in Law (Civil Law specialization) at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán. She has also completed diploma courses in Civil and Commercial Procedural Law — earning credits toward a Master’s in Law — at the Universidad de Estudios de Posgrados en Derecho, as well as a diploma course in Marriage and Family Sciences.

Since 2001, she has been a partner at Abraham Magaña y Asociados, practicing law in the fields of Civil, Commercial, and Corporate Law, and serving as a Head of the practice group since 2007.

Jorge Alfredo Picazo Amador

Law graduate of Universidad La Salle (focusing on the main factors influencing the criminal behavior of juvenile offenders), he holds a Master’s degree in Law with a specialization in Civil Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán and has completed various diploma courses in Criminal Law, Procedural Law, and “Amparo” proceedings. Since 2010, he has served as an associate attorney in the Civil Law practice and heads the Condominium Law division.

Silvia Elizabeth Valdez Palomo

Law graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (specializing in Contentious Administrative Procedure), she has completed diploma courses in Civil Procedural Law and in Marriage and Family Sciences. She has taught various subjects at both the Autonomous University of Yucatán’s preparatory school and La Salle University Cancún. Since 2001, she has been a partner and head of the Family Law practice at Abraham Magaña y Asociados.

Rocío de la Natividad González Cruz

Law graduate of La Salle University (who qualified based on academic standing), she has completed diploma courses in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law, and Civil Law. She has also worked in the Immigration Regulation division of the National Migration Institute in Cancún, Quintana Roo. Since 2007, she has practiced as a lawyer specializing in Family Law at Abraham Magaña y Asociados.

Daniela Neri Álvarez

Law graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Quintana Roo, she has completed diploma courses in civil, family, and “amparo” law, as well as courses in accounting and electronic invoicing. Since 2023, she has served as a lawyer in the Family Law practice at Abraham Magaña y Asociados.

José del Carmen Ambrosio Escamilla

Law graduate from the Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Mexico (The obligation bonding and the joint obligation). He holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Procedural Law from the Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal Law. He has completed diploma courses in Constitutional Law and “Amparo” proceedings, Criminal Procedural Law, Forensic Medicine, Criminalistic Identification Methods, and Federal Judicial Proceedings, as well as various courses and seminars on judicial ethics, professional development for Federal Public Prosecutors, and updates in Criminal Procedural Law, Civil Procedural Law, and Family Law.

Since 2001, he has been a Partner and Head of the Criminal Law Practice at Abraham Magaña y Asociados S.C., working as a practicing criminal defense attorney.

Enrique Sosa Zapata

Law graduate of Universidad Anáhuac in Cancún, he has completed diploma courses in Federal Judicial Proceedings, Judicial Ethics, and the New Criminal Justice System. He holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Procedural Law. He has been practicing as a criminal law attorney since 2001.

Alicia Mora Nájera

Law graduate of Universidad Anáhuac, North Campus (Law Degree); Master’s in Corporate Law (Anáhuac University Cancún); OUPV/Six-Pack Captain’s License Course (Seaschool, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA).

She has served as a bilingual attorney at Abraham Magaña y Asociados since 2020. She specializes in corporate and maritime law; in the latter capacity, she assists clients with both legal and operational matters regarding the procurement, regularization, updating, and application for permits to provide nautical tourism services in the Mexican Caribbean and Baja California Sur. Additionally, she has 20 years of experience drafting bilingual contracts (English-Spanish) focused on civil, commercial, and maritime law—including charter agreements, bareboat charters, provisioning agreements, and financial leases. She has also worked as an attorney and operational advisor for tourist marinas and as a ship’s agent in Cancún, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, and Puerto Aventuras.

She has held certification as a real estate advisor since February 2026.

Héctor Betancourt Perera

Law graduate of Universidad Instituto Yucatán Península Misión (YPM); has completed diploma courses in “Amparo” proceedings; served as President of the Oversight Council (“Consejo de Vigilancia”) of the Ejido Leona Vicario during the 2016–2019 administration. Since 2021, he has been an attorney at Abraham Magaña y Asociados.
